EMCO Energy Plans and Services
EMCO Energy offers fixed- and floating-rates plans for both natural gas and electricity. Please see below for more details on how their main energy plans work.
Electricity
Consumers who choose the fixed-rate plans with EMCO can sign up for a term of up to five years.
The variable rate for electricity includes the market pool price plus a retailer fee of 1 cent/kWh.
Variable plans also come with a prudential rate, which is the amount required to pay a charge to guarantee payment to the generators for the cost of energy a consumer uses and the distribution utilities for delivery charges. A 5% interest per annum is credited to the customer’s monthly energy bill, and the prudential gets 100% refunded if a customer leaves EMCO Energy.
EMCO Energy has a fixed monthly administration fee of $6.75 per metered site. However, customers who consume over 3,375 kWh per month will be charged an additional $0.00200/kWh.
EMCO Energy also offers green energy plans, which are claimed to be cheaper than other retailers’ green energy options
EMCO Energy also offers solar club rates to micro generators who have bidirectional meters.
Natural gas
EMCO Energy offers fixed natural gas plans for up to three years. When it comes to the variable rate, the energy charge is a sum of the market rate and a retailer fee of 50 cents/GJ, as of early 2021.
EMCO Energy has a fixed monthly administration fee of $4.50 per metered site.
