What is Tassa Energy?
Tassa Energy was founded by Lyle Thorsen who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He also co-founded a local, Cochrane-based craft brewery called Rocky View Brewing Company. Tassa is a family-run, Indigenous majority-owned company that donates 10% of its profits back to the local communities.

Tassa Energy provides both fixed and floating energy rates – here is a quick summary of the plans they offer for both fixed and floating electricity and natural gas services. Note that for any of these plans, you may cancel at any time with no penalty. All plans include a monthly admin fee.
Tassa Energy Fixed Electricity Rate Plans

Tassa Energy Fixed Natural Gas Rates
- Fixed Rate for 1-year – Price is guaranteed for one year.
Tassa Energy Floating Electricity Rate
- Floating electricity rates vary by month. The floating rate for electricity is calculated as the cost of energy plus the retailer’s margin. No sign-up fees or cancellation fees.
Tassa Energy Floating Natural Gas Rate
- Floating natural gas rates vary by month. Like with electricity floating rates, the floating rate for natural gas is calculated as the cost of energy plus the retailer’s margin.

In addition to regular fixed and floating energy rates, Tassa Energy has plans for Internet that is partnered by Q Wave, and they are also part of Microgen Solar Club, which can be accessed and looked at for their rates once you are signing up, as bundles and plans do change on their site.
Tassa also has an Air Miles rewards plan, alongside a Carbon Offset Credit program for micro-solar gen homeowners.
Tassa Energy payment methods
Currently, Tassa Energy allows for payment through pre-authorized chequing/debit accounts and cards, as well as with most major credit cards. They prefer pre-authorized chequing accounts, as it can just directly bill without concerns of any credit limits or other issues. Your payment and bills can be found in your profile online, as bills are digitally processed and available to see.
