What is Burst Energy?

Burst Energy is an Alberta-based energy retailer that sells electricity and natural gas services to customers that are within the range of ATCO, ENMAX, EPCOR and Fortis Alberta service territories in Alberta. They operate under a retail license held by Sponsor Energy Inc. and can provide services to farm, residential and commercial buildings.

Since December 2014, they’ve been offering flexible energy plans to consumers via contract-free energy plans. Unlike some other energy retailers, they don’t charge fees for signing up nor for cancelling your services with them.

Burst Energy plans and rates

As mentioned earlier, Burst Energy offers both natural gas and electricity rates.

For electricity, they offer a variable/flow-through electricity rate. For natural gas, they offer a floating natural gas rate.

Currently, pre-authorized debit from a chequing account is the only payment type that Burst Energy accepts.
