What is Foothills Energy?
Foothills Energy is an Alberta-based energy retailer that sells electricity and natural gas services to customers that are within the province.
Since 2016, the Foothills Energy Co-op was formed with the mandate to accumulate net revenues to fund and support energy conservation, green energy, and sustainability initiatives within their service areas for the province of Alberta. The Co-op Community Fund is used for projects that members initiate and proposals and goals are approved by a project committee made up of co-op members as well.
The co-op is chartered under the Alberta Co-operatives Act and run for a volunteer board of directors who are elected by members at the annual general meeting. Each member has an opportunity to participate and promote projects that advance the guiding principles of the Foothills Energy Co-op.
Foothills Energy Electricity & Natural Gas Rates
Foothills Energy offers both natural gas and electricity rates. They also offer Solar through the Solar Club, that can offer bundled rates for more savings and benefit, if the customer is looking into solar in the future or currently already uses solar panelling.
Foothills Energy Co-op has a sign-up form online and they have information in every category they offer, including extras such as the AirMiles Rewards Program, Carbon Offset Credit Platform, Solar Club’s Shine & Win Contest, and they also have their past and future Projects available for the public to see on their website.
Foothills Energy payment methods
Foothills Energy only accepts payment via pre-authorized debit from a chequing account, and it is their only method of payment. It is currently unknown whether they will accept more forms of payment in the future.
According to Foothills Energy, customers can expect to receive their first invoice within 5 weeks, sooner if they’ve opted for electronic bills and not paper.
