What is EMPWR Energy?
EMPWR Energy is an Alberta-based energy retailer that sells electricity, internet, and natural gas services to customers that are within the province.
Since being founded in 2018, Empowering Communities Energy is an Alberta non-profit, environmentally friendly boutique energy, natural gas, and internet service provider. EMPWR reinvests 100% of its revenue back into local communities. Signing up with them helps to fund local businesses, non-profits, education, and tech inventions to empower their local community. They don’t charge fees for cancelling services with them.
EMPWR Energy is a small team with 5 employees, offering the four utilities stated before, and they have currently and continue to reinvest over $100,000+ through their programs.
EMPWR Energy Electricity & Natural Gas Rates
As mentioned earlier, EMPWR Energy offers both natural gas and electricity rates, and internet services.
For electricity and natural gas, they offer a variable rate.
EMPWR Energy offers internet such as Cable and DSLR as well. Customers can opt to receive paper bills as well if they don’t want to have paperless internet bills only, and they are also part of the Solar Club, which offers benefits and discounts for customers who own or will be owning solar panels in the future.
EMPWR Energy payment methods
EMPWR Energy currently only accepts pre-authorized debit from a chequing account. It is unknown if they will include any additional payment forms in the future, but as of now, they only accept one form of payment.
According to EMPWR Energy, customers can expect to receive their first invoice within 3-6 weeks, sooner if they’ve opted for electronic bills and not paper.
