What is Azgard Energy?
Azgard Energy is an Alberta-based company that’s been in the energy business for over 40 years. They offer home plans that include electricity, solar, natural gas, and internet. Early in 2010, solar became their primary focus and in late 2010, they rebranded to Azgard Energy and began to develop and build solar energy projects.
From 2010 to 2013, Azgard designed and built more than 100 small ground-mount solar projects, as well as two large solar farms that they currently own and operate. Since that time, they’ve grown and built numerous solar projects across Canada and the USA.
In 2022, they became a community retailer.
Azgard Energy Plans and Services
Azgard Energy provides both variable/floating and fixed rates for electricity and natural gas, along with providing internet and the Microgen Solar Club. All plans are available to be changed and there is an included fee with every plan.
Azgard Energy Fixed Electricity Rate Plans
Guaranteed fixed rates for electricity plans are available in 1 year or 3 year terms and the prices are guaranteed for that time period. Administrative charges are per metered site on a monthly fixed rate basis and customers who consume over 2950 kWh will be charged an additional fee.
Azgard Energy Fixed Natural Gas Rates
Guaranteed in 1-year increments, Azgard Energy has two guaranteed rates:
- Discount gas rate (+ Prudential)
- Base Gas Rate
All plans include administration fees.
Azgard Energy Floating Electricity Rate
The variable market price (+ Prudential) plus a transaction fee. It changes per month based on what the wholesale market price is, and this can be changed at any time to a fixed rate if wanted.
Azgard Energy Floating Natural Gas Rate
The floating/variable natural gas rate changes with the wholesale market and customers will be charged each month differently based on that, plus a transaction fee.

Azgard Energy Internet
Azgard Energy partners with Q-Wave for their internet providing. There are several plans available depending on the customers needs.
