What is Astro Energy?
Astro Energy was founded in Fort McMurray in 2018. Providing energy services to the entire province of Alberta, their energy services are available to almost all residential and commercial customers.
Every customer that Astro Energy serves helps to give back to the community, as 10% of their annual profits are donated to a local charity of the customer’s choice. The company’s customer service is located in Calgary.
Astro Energy Plans and Services
Astro Energy provides both floating and fixed rates for electricity and natural gas. All plans are available to be changed and there is an included fee with every plan.
Astro Energy Fixed Electricity Rate Plans
Guaranteed fixed rates for electricity plans are available in 1- or 3-year terms, and the prices are guaranteed for that time period. Administrative charges are per metered site on a monthly fixed rate basis and customers who consume over 2950 kWh will be charged an additional fee.
Astro Energy Fixed Natural Gas Rates
Guaranteed a 5-year increment or a monthly floating rate, Astro Energy has two guaranteed rates.
- Discount gas rate (+ Prudential)
- Base Gas Rate
All plans include administration fees.
Astro Energy Floating Electricity Rate
The variable market price (+ Prudential) plus a transaction fee. It changes per month based on what the wholesale market price is, and this can be changed at any time to a fixed rate if wanted.
Astro Energy Floating Natural Gas Rate
The floating/variable natural gas rate changes with the wholesale market and customers will be charged each month differently based on that, plus a transaction fee.
