Abode Power is an Alberta-based electricity and natural gas marketer that partners with UTILITYnet, which is a company that has been providing Alberta with energy management solutions for over 30 years.
Abode Power Energy Plans and Services
Abode Power offers electricity rates, natural gas, internet plans, and the Solar Club – which can help customers earn a premium on their solar electricity. In Alberta, you can choose how customers can buy energy. It’s important to understand the details and benefits of each rate option to find what works best for you.
Abode Power Electricity Plans
Abode Power services all locations for electricity in Alberta except for the City of Medicine Hat and some specific REAs, such as Ermineskin REA, Wildrose REA, etc. There is more information on their website for particular locations.
They offer variable and fixed residential rates, as well as for businesses. Their fixed-rate plans include one- and three-year options, whereas the floating rate option doesn’t have a term.
Abode Power Natural Gas Plans
They can service all locations in Alberta if the current distributor is ATCO Gas or Apex Utilities. Abode Power cannot service any locations currently with a natural gas co-op.
Variable residential rate: Customers will be charged the ever-changing wholesale price plus a transaction fee.
Guaranteed Residential Rate: Abode Power’s fixed natural gas rates guarantee their customers will pay the same rate for the selected term, no matter what happens in the market.
Abode Power Solar Club Rates
Abode Power has a unique loyalty program designed specifically for small solar micro-generators. Customers can earn a premium on their solar electricity and help further green Alberta’s electricity grid. To qualify for all of the benefits included, customers must be micro-generators in Alberta and donate to local food banks.
*Solar Club is only applicable to small microgeneration sites that are on a bi-directional cumulative meter. Designed for solar micro-generators importing more electricity from the grid than they are exporting.
