BC Hydro and FortisBC Appliance Rebates
BC Hydro occasionally offers rebates for the purchase of energy-efficient appliances that reduce your energy usage. Currently, these rebates include a rebate of $25 to $100 on qualifying refrigerators, clothes dryers, and clothes washers.
An additional $50 rebate is currently offered for the purchase of select models of ENERGY STAR-branded clothes washers, if you live in one of the below towns, districts or cities:
- Abbotsford/Mission
- Coquitlam
- Nanaimo
- New Westminster
- North Vancouver
- Richmond
- Vancouver
- West Vancouver
Residents of the Township of Langley currently qualify for a $50 rebate on the purchase of certain ENERGY STAR clothes washers, clothes dryers, and refrigerators.

BC Hydro & FortisBC Home Renovation Rebates
For homeowners who want to cut their energy costs, BC Hydro and FortisBC have something to sweeten the deal—rebates on renovations that improve the energy efficiency of your home. To qualify for these rebates, you simply need to live in BC Hydro’s or FortisBC’s service territories, use electricity or natural gas as your primary source of heating, and have a billing history of at least 12 months.
Please note, some rebate offers are only offered by a single utility.
Currently, home renovation rebates on offer include:
- Ductless heat pump – $500
- Draftproofing – Up to $500
- EnerChoice Fireplaces – $300
- Energy Coach Home Evaluation – $150
- Natural Gas Hot Water Heater – Up to $1,000
- Three or more Eligible Upgrades – $750
